Softball Recap: Dexter Wins Going Away Against Foxcroft Academy

Dexter barely beat Foxcroft Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Ponies on Wednesday. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by ten runs or more this season.

Kallie Stone made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. Stone was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Desiree Adams, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Skylar Gulley was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Dexter is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Foxcroft Academy, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dexter will welcome Mattanawcook at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
