They took a 58-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mater Academy East Las Vegas. Democracy Prep Agassi Campus found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post nine fewer assists than your opponent.
Democracy Prep Agassi Campus' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Xzaviar Rayford, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tai Coleman, who scored 19 points.
Mater Academy East Las Vegas got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kendon Jones out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Jones is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Miles Williams, who scored eight points along with nine assists and six rebounds.
Democracy Prep Agassi Campus' defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Mater Academy East Las Vegas, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Democracy Prep Agassi Campus is on the road again on Friday and play against Eldorado at 6:30 p.m. on December 8th. Eldorado is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Mater Academy East Las Vegas, they will head out on the road to face off against Mojave at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Mojave is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 67 points per game.
