Softball Recap: Shaler Area Snags Sixth Victory in Last Eight Games

Shaler Area won against New Castle on Monday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Titans' pitchers stepped up to hand the Mars Fightin' Planets a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Titans have won five games by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Shaler Area has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Mars, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-15.

Looking ahead, Shaler Area will head out to square off against Seneca Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mars, they will be playing at home against Western Beaver at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Fightin' Planets are facing the Golden Beavers at the right time seeing as the Golden Beavers are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
