Boca Raton Christian extended the longest winning streak in Freelance this week by beating Palmer Trinity, 44-9. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Harvest Community moved up to 435 from 484 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 20-18 win over Taylor helped the Warriors improve their standing.
Rocky Bayou Christian's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Tyler Paskell threw for 224 and three touchdowns and Josh Preston had 99 yards receiving. On the ground Levi Derry chipped in 210 yards. Seth Waldron helped Rocky Bayou Christian's passing attack out by catching one ball for 59 yards.
Nic Duch provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Christ's Church Academy bested Cedar Creek Christian. He completed 15 passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 46 yards. Duch's favorite target this week was Levi Lall, who caught four passes for 85 yards.
James Cooksey made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Eagles defeated the Saints. The 6-foot-3 defensive end forced two fumbles and grabbed one sack.
Rocky Bayou Christian's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Knights feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Paskell has thrown for 1003 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, while Preston has 37 catches for 559 yards. Derry leads the league in rushing with 642 yards.
A big matchup in Freelance this week will be when Keys Gate takes on Mater Academy Charter. The Knights are currently in 13th, while Mater Academy Charter is in 10th.
Windermere Prep was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from 23rd to 17th in the league. The Lakers beat Seffner Christian 17-14 earlier in the week.
