Baseball Recap: Seekonk Snaps 12-Game Streak of Wins at Home

After flying high against Case last Monday, Seekonk came back down to earth. The Warriors took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Somerset Berkley Regional Raiders on Wednesday. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Javi Borges was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Borges is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Greyson Baldizar was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Seekonk's loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2. As for Somerset Berkley Regional, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Seekonk will welcome Attleboro at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bombardiers have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Somerset Berkley Regional, they will head out on the road to challenge Middleborough at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
