The Wilby Wildcats will head out on the road to challenge the Harding Presidents at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Wilby knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 contests -- so hopefully the Presidents like a good challenge.
In what's become a running theme this season, Wilby gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Oxford 101-51 at home. Given Wilby's advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Wolverines are ranked 160th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Harding's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They took a 74-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fitch. Harding has not had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Harding might have lost, but man, Guillaume Mulenga Jr. was a machine: he scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. It was the first time this season that Mulenga Jr. scored 15 or more points. Craig Chandler was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Wilby is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for Harding, they dropped their record down to 4-8 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
