It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Northeast Vikings had no problem doing just that on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 43-25 victory over the Royals. The victory was just what Northeast needed coming off of a 47-22 loss in their prior contest.
Despite the defeat, Hollins saw an underclassman step up: Summer Morgan scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Morgan is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played.
Northeast's win bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Hollins, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season.
Northeast will head out on the road to face off against the Tornadoes on Wednesday. Clearwater presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Vikings in Florida (the Tornadoes are ranked 130th, while the Vikings are ranked 557th). Hollins does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
