The Starkville Academy Volunteers lost against the Rossville Christian Academy Wolves back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Starkville Academy was the victim of a rough 56-33 loss at the hands of the Wolves. While losing is never fun, Starkville Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 69th in Mississippi, while the Wolves are ranked ninth in Tennessee).
Starkville Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Raylee Jones and Vols Production. Jones scored six points along with ten rebounds, while Production scored six points along with ten rebounds. Jones hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for four straight games.
Starkville Academy dropped their record down to 15-11 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Rossville Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 24-2.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Heritage Academy the next time they take the court. Rossville Christian Academy will head out to face Heritage Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Starkville Academy will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
