Even though The Ridgewood Rebels scored an imposing 34 points on Friday, the Sandwich Indians still came out on top. Sandwich enjoyed a cozy 49-34 win over Ridgewood. That's two games straight that Sandwich has won by exactly 15 points.
Sandwich was led to victory by Nick Michalek and Simeion Harris. Michalek rushed for 177 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry, while Harris rushed for 215 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per carry. Harris was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 52 yards. Caleb Jones made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Despite the loss, Ridgewood still got an impressive performance from Jaden Rodriguez, who threw for 272 yards and four touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Luke Melendez, who picked up 121 receiving yards.
The win makes it two in a row for Sandwich and bumps their season record up to 7-3. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 15 points. As for Ridgewood, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Sandwich does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ridgewood also has no future games currently scheduled.
