The Ash Fork Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 44-43 to Grand Canyon. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Ash Fork of the 38-35 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture on January 9th.

Grand Canyon can attribute much of their success to Xochitl Galvan, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Galvan has scored at least a third of Grand Canyon's points. Jaemie Jensen was another key contributor, scoring six points along with ten rebounds and eight steals.
