New Oxford hasn't had much luck against Central York recently, but that could start to change  on Friday. The Colonials will be playing at home against the Panthers  at 4:15  p.m. New Oxford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3  runs per game  this season.
On Wednesday, New Oxford got the win against Northeastern  by a conclusive  13-4. The result was nothing new for the Colonials, who have now won seven matches by six  runs or more  so far this season.
 Miranda Leatherman made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowing only  one  hit over six innings pitched. Leatherman was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-5 with two  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double.

 In other batting news,  Brooklyn Horick was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with one  home run, five  RBI,  and two  runs. Those  five  RBI gave  her a new career-high.  Payton Hostetter was another key player,  going 3-for-5 with three  runs and three  RBI.
 New Oxford was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .378. They are  a perfect 6-0 when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Central York came tearing into  Thursday's  game with three straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They beat the Warriors by the very same score they won with in their prior game:  4-1.
 Elizabeth Ferrell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in three consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Ellie Lamer, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with one  triple, two  RBI,  and one  run. That  triple marked the first that  she has  hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Alli Raynes, who  went 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases and two  runs.
 Central York's victory was  their ninth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 13-3. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for New Oxford, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record  this season.
Friday's   match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. New Oxford hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .319. However, it's not like Central York struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .370. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
