This Week's Big Showdown
One of last week's main attractions was the confrontation between Brunswick and Cony, 9th and 13th in the power rankings, respectively. Brunswick was able to grind out a solid victory over Cony, winning 21 - 13. Brunswick saw its record improve to 7-3 and its power rank jump five places as a result.
Look Out Below
Maine Central Institute is a little down this week -- likely figuratively, certainly literally. The team fell seven spots in the power rankings (the most of any team in the rankings) after its most recent contest. It wasn't able to get on the board against Nokomis. The team fell 13 - 0. Maine Central Institute unfortunately couldn't repeat the imposing 50-point effort it came up with in its previous game.
No Stoppin 'Em
The match between Bucksport and Mattanawcook last week put some strain on the scoreboard; in fact, with a total of 113 final points, it was the highest scoring contest in the power rankings for the week. The final score between Bucksport and Mattanawcook was a 77 - 36 blowout in Bucksport's favor. The win boosted Bucksport a satisfying 12 spots in the power rankings.
