The Sheldon Panthers lost against the Montrose Blue Jays back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Sheldon lost to Montrose at home by a decisive 41-26 margin. Sheldon has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Sheldon saw an underclassman step up: Wynsdae Connelly scored 12 points along with two steals. Connelly has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.
Sheldon has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Montrose, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.
Sheldon will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Hume at 5:00 p.m. Hume will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something Sheldon surely won't give up without a fight. As for Montrose, they will head out on the road to face off against Sherwood at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
