Football Recap: Great Oak Piles Up the Points Against Corona

Great Oak won against Temescal Canyon last Friday with 49 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. The Wolfpack blew past the Corona Panthers 49-14. With the Wolfpack ahead 30-7 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Great Oak found their leader in sophomore Trent Lux, who threw for 307 yards and four TDs while picking up 12.3 yards per attempt. Those four passing touchdowns set a new season-high mark for Lux. Blake Certeza was another key player, picking up 104 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Great Oak was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 216 rushing yards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Although Corona took the loss, they still got scores from Nico Mejia and Angel Heredia.

The victory made it two in a row for Great Oak and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.0 points over those games. As for Corona, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2.
