Baseball Recap: Providence School Victorious

Providence School posted their closest win since March 4th on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Tocoi Creek Toros. For the Stallions, this counts as revenge for the 6-1 win the Toros walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Landis Pickett made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Pickett was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Pickett wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Preston Ricchini, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Providence School's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-8. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Tocoi Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 15-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Providence School will take on Richmond Hill at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Tocoi Creek, they will face off against Ponte Vedra at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
