Berwick waltzed into their match on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Ascension Catholic Bulldogs. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 8-7 victory the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Berwick pushed their record up to 13-11 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Ascension Catholic, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Berwick Panthers duke it out with Donaldsonville Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Berwick is facing Donaldsonville at the right time seeing as Donaldsonville is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Ascension Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Iberville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.64 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
