Highlands extended the longest winning streak in 4A District 7 this week by beating Pendleton County, 70-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Bluebirds.
Covington Catholic's Blake Bir and Evan Braun have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Bir has thrown for 1445 yards this season, while Braun, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 22 catches for 366 yards. Harrison County's Deshon Talbott leads the league in rushing yards with 376.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Highlands takes on second place Holmes. Last week, Highlands beat the Wildcats, while Holmes defeated the Thorobreds.
There should be lots of points scored when the Colonels and Harrison County face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Covington Catholic comes in having scored 233 this season, while Mark Carroll's team has scored 73.
Dale Mueller's team led 4A District 7 in scoring this week after putting up 70 points on Pendleton County.
