Iona Prep is 8-2 against Fordham Prep since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Gaels will take on the Rams at 4:15 p.m. Iona Prep will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
On Saturday, Iona Prep made easy work of St. Raymond Boys and carried off a 12-2 win. The Gaels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by six runs or more this season.

Matthew Petrillo looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Devin Diaz was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Julian Guzman, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Iona Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .344 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Fordham Prep never let their opponents score on Thursday. Everything went their way against Christ the King as they made off with an 11-0 victory. That 11-run margin sets a new team best for the Rams this season.
Joaquin Del Pino made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Del Pino was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.
In other pitching news, Alexander Mendoza looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on John Medina, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Derek Soroa was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.
Iona Prep's record is now 17-3. As for Fordham Prep, their record now sits at 5-9.
