With a playoff win on the line, Saint Andrew rose to the challenge on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the NSU University Sharks as they made off with a 9-2 win. The Scots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by seven runs or more this season.
Michael Tight was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Tight was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Coy Allman was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February of 2024. Matt Spina was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs.
Saint Andrew's kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as NSU University only managed four hits.
Saint Andrew's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for NSU University, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 23-6.
