The Golden Plains Bulldogs lost against the Cheylin Cougars back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Golden Plains took a serious blow against Cheylin, falling 72-6. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Golden Plains in their matchups with Cheylin: they've now lost seven in a row.
Cheylin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Logan McCarty, who rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and also threw for 125 yards and four touchdowns on only ten passes. McCarty was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 51 yards. Another player making a difference was Pablo Bermudez, who gained 143 total yards and five touchdowns.
Golden Plains' defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Cheylin, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Golden Plains does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cheylin is also done with their season.
