The Spackenkill Spartans fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against New Paltz by a score of 34-22 on Friday. For Spackenkill, this counts as revenge for the 35-17 loss New Paltz walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2017.
Spackenkill's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bryan Hoyt, who rushed for 82 yards on only five carries, and also threw for 128 yards and two touchdowns. Daniel Collins jr. was another key contributor, gaining 119 total yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, New Paltz still got an impressive performance from Nick Horowitz, who rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also threw for 67 yards and a touchdown. Horowitz really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run.
Spackenkill's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for New Paltz, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Spackenkill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. New Paltz also has no future games currently scheduled.
