The North Brunswick Scorpions can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They blew past Topsail 76-56. Winning may never get old, but North Brunswick sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
North Brunswick's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Malakhi Daniels, who scored 16 points along with two steals. Daniels has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Matthew McKenny, who scored 11 points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Spencer Henry, who scored 16 points. It was the first time this season that Henry scored 15 or more points. Caden Wilson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
North Brunswick's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.5 points per game. As for Topsail, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-14.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Brunswick has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. New Hanover knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 matches -- so hopefully the Scorpions like a good challenge. As for Topsail, they will be playing at home against the Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hoggard presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Pirates in North Carolina (the Vikings are ranked 142nd, while the Pirates are ranked 373rd).
