Plant is 4-0 against Alonso since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Plant Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Alonso Ravens at 7:30 p.m. Plant will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
Plant stacked a sixth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. Everything went their way against Steinbrenner as Plant made off with a 27-6 win. Given Plant's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Steinbrenner is ranked 253rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Plant can attribute much of their success to Trey O'Malley, who threw for 149 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes, and Waltez Clark, who gained 131 total yards and two touchdowns. Clark's longest reception was for an incredible 91 yards.
Meanwhile, Alonso didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Strawberry Crest two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 34-30 win.
Joseph Glennon was his usual excellent self, rushing for 101 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 258 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75.9% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Dontrell Issac, who rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Plant to 7-2 and Alonso to 6-2.
Everything came up roses for Plant against Alonso in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 42-0 victory. Does Plant have another victory up their sleeve, or will Alonso turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
