Baseball Recap: Hilltop Beats Holgate for Their Third Straight Victory

Hilltop extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 6-4 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Holgate Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cadets have posted since April 3rd.

Devin Dempsey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Anthony Jiannuzzi, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

As for Holgate, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by just one run.

On Holgate's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zack Boecker, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
