Loudoun Valley has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against The Dominion Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dominion took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Loudoun Valley, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Loudoun Valley's game was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They strolled past Heritage with points to spare, taking the game 28-14. That's two games straight that Loudoun Valley has won by exactly 14 points.
Macklin Gaffney was on fire: he rushed for 174 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. Gaffney was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards. Loudoun Valley also got a significant boost from Ethan Lafollette, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 116 yards.
Meanwhile, Dominion was beaten by Tuscarora 49-6 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Dominion can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 265th, while Tuscarora is ranked 40th).
Loudoun Valley is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Dominion, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7.
Everything came up roses for Loudoun Valley against Dominion in their previous meeting back in September of 2022 as the team secured a 55-7 win. Will Loudoun Valley repeat their success, or does Dominion have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
