Even though the Pungo Christian Academy Raiders scored an imposing 57 points on Thursday, the Ridgecroft Rams still came out on top. Ridgecroft secured a 61-57 W over the Raiders. Winning may never get old, but Ridgecroft sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Ridgecroft's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Antron Gray, who scored 19 points along with six assists and two steals. Baylor Edwards was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six assists and three steals.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maddox Lee, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Lee is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Drew Van Staalduinen, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Ridgecroft pushed their record up to 15-5 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points per game. As for Pungo Christian Academy, their loss ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 19-3.
Ridgecroft will take on the Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Averaging 67.82 points so far this season, Pungo Christian Academy's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so the Rams better be ready for a challenge. As for Pungo Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against the Rams at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Ridgecroft focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday.
