After a string of three wins, the Chicago Vocational Cavaliers's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 70-61 to Comer. The contest was a 29-29 toss-up at halftime, but Chicago Vocational was outscored by Comer in the second.
Chicago Vocational lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ron Thigpen, who scored 26 points. Thigpen scored a full 42.6% of Chicago Vocational's points, the ninth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kyree Jones was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Chicago Vocational's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-5. As for Comer, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-8.
Chicago Vocational and Richards will round out the year against one another at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at. Comer will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hansberry at 7:00 p.m. on January 11, 2024.
