The Pine Crest Panthers will challenge the Calvary Christian Academy Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
It was a proper cat-fight when Pine Crest challenged King's Academy on Thursday. The Panthers fell 3-1 to the Lions. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
Pine Crest started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-16, 29-27, 25-22.
Pine Crest might have lost, but man, Kaylee Foreman was a machine: she had 24 digs and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine Florian, who had ten digs and two aces.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Calvary Christian Academy walked away with it. They came out on top against the Chiefs by a score of 3-1 on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-23, 19-25, 25-17.
Pine Crest's defeat dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Calvary Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 13-11.
Pine Crest came out on top in a nail-biter against Calvary Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in September, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
