Basketball Recap: Summit's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

With a playoff win on the line, Summit rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Canby Cougars, sneaking past 47-45. Winning may never get old, but the Storm sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Canby's loss came despite strong showings from Jack Brauckmiller and Jaxon Lawson. Brauckmiller dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards, while Lawson shot 50% from the field to rack up 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The contest was Lawson's third in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Cousin, who posted eight points.

Summit's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points over those games. As for Canby, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-10.

Summit has already played their next matchup, a 57-56 defeat against La Salle on the 15th. As for Canby, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 61-48 loss against Wilsonville on the 15th.
