The Williamsburg Wildcats waltzed into their game Tuesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They secured a 53-48 W over Clermont Northeastern. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Williamsburg has scored all year.
Several Rockets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Connor Yeager, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. Yeager is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Symon Mattes, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Williamsburg's win was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1. As for Clermont Northeastern, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
Williamsburg will head out on the road to face off against East Clinton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Clinton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 729th, while Williamsburg is ranked 184th). As for Clermont Northeastern, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Fayetteville-Perry at 7:15 p.m.
