Two weeks ago, Cumberland Valley Christian suffered a rough 69-44 defeat at the hands of Heritage Academy. While losing is never fun, Cumberland Valley Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 269th in Pennsylvania, while Heritage Academy is ranked 51st in Maryland).
Even though Grace Academy has not done well against Heritage Academy recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Grace Academy narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Heritage Academy 55-52. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Grace Academy has posted yet this season.
Peter Ciardiello was his usual excellent self, scoring 30 points along with nine rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Grace Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Feeser, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Cumberland Valley Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Grace Academy, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3.
Cumberland Valley Christian lost to Grace Academy on the road by a decisive 62-47 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Feeser, who scored 26 points along with three steals.
