Lee County is a perfect 3-0 against Buckhorn since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bobcats will host the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Buckhorn will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Lee County extended their winning streak to four on Thursday. The Bobcats' pitcher stepped up to hand Morgan County a 6-0 shutout. Considering the Bobcats have won four games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Preslee Cundiff made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Trinity Price, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Willow Tipton was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Lee County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Buckhorn had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Owsley County 15-6 on Wednesday. Surprisingly, this marked the Wildcats' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Lee County pushed their record up to 4-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Buckhorn, their victory bumped their record up to 5-13.
Everything went Lee County's way against Buckhorn in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, as Lee County made off with a 15-0 win. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
