Columbiana is a perfect 3-0 against Girard since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Clippers will challenge the Indians at 11:00 a.m. Columbiana will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Columbiana's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Leetonia with a sharp 11-0 win. The Clippers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by eight runs or more this season.

Sam Inboden made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing three bases. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, Avery Young and Max Conway did most of the damage at the plate: Young scored two runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances, while Conway scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. With that strong performance, Young is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Dan Goehring, who scored a run and stole four bases while going 2-for-4.
Columbiana was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .351 or higher in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Girard didn't have quite enough to beat Lakeview on Wednesday and fell 3-2.
Camron Herrick was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits.
At the plate, Girard saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dominic Phiilips, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Columbiana pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Girard, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-3.
Columbiana took their victory against Girard when the teams last played back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 14-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Clippers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
