Wesclin is 0-3 against Althoff Catholic since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Wesclin Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Althoff Catholic Crusaders at 1:00 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
A well-balanced attack led Wesclin over Steeleville in every quarter on their way to victory on Wednesday. Wesclin strolled past Steeleville with points to spare, taking the game 58-40. The win was just what Wesclin needed coming off of a 66-41 defeat in their prior game.
Father McGivney Catholic typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Althoff Catholic proved too difficult a challenge. They managed a 42-38 win over the Griffins. The win made it back-to-back wins for Althoff Catholic.
Wesclin pushed their record up to 14-15 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for Althoff Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-11 record this season.
Wesclin came up short against Althoff Catholic in their previous meeting back in February of 2018, falling 49-37. Can Wesclin avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
