The Leadership Academy Falcons will head out on the road to take on the North Forsyth Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Leadership Academy will be strutting in after a victory while North Forsyth will be coming in after a loss.
Leadership Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They put the hurt on College Prep & Leadership Academy with a sharp 60-34 victory. Given Leadership Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 251st, while College Prep & Leadership Academy is ranked 616th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leadership Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ali Faenza, who scored 17 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Faenza has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmy Guldberg, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.
North Forsyth suffered their biggest defeat since November 29, 2023 last Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 49-17 loss at the hands of T.W. Andrews. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points North Forsyth has scored all season.
The victory makes it two in a row for Leadership Academy and bumps their season record up to 9-4. As for North Forsyth, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 4-8.
Leadership Academy beat North Forsyth 32-21 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Leadership Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
