Even though the Rampart Rams scored an imposing 60 points on Wednesday, the Liberty Lancers still came out on top. Liberty walked away with a 67-60 victory over Rampart. For Liberty, this counts as revenge for the 56-53 loss Rampart walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
London Praytor was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Cunningham, who scored 14 points along with six assists.
Rampart's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adeel Johnson el, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Johnson el continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Myles Chavarria was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
Liberty's victory ended a 17-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10. As for Rampart, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
Liberty will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Fountain-Fort Carson at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. As for Rampart, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Pine Creek at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Pine Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Wednesday.
