After both having extra time off, the Mid-Pacific Institute Owls and the St. Louis Crusaders will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Mid-Pacific Institute focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six last Thursday.
Last Thursday, Mid-Pacific Institute faced the Buff n' Blue in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Mid-Pacific Institute fell 63-53 to the Buff n' Blue.
Despite the defeat, Mid-Pacific Institute had strong showings from Darius Chizer, who scored 18 points along with two steals, and Jarek Yee, who scored 14 points along with two steals. Tyson Norr was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two blocks.
Meanwhile, St. Louis unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak last Thursday. They fell just short of Maryknoll by a score of 39-37.
Mid-Pacific Institute's loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 11-17. As for St. Louis, their loss ended a ten-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 20-7.
Mid-Pacific Institute was dealt a bruising 82-49 loss at the hands of the Crusaders in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can Mid-Pacific Institute avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
