The Buckeye Bucks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their seventh straight defeat. They fell 59-48 to Central Christian. Buckeye was down 43-21 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Buckeye lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ruby Hudak, who scored 16 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. It was the first time this season that Hudak scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddy Kost, who scored 13 points.
Buckeye's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Central Christian, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-9.
Buckeye won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Invaders at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Hopefully Normandy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Saturday. As for Central Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against the Knights at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
