At the plate, O'Fallon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dane Hrasky, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Belleville West waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Warriors as they made off with a 12-2 win.
Lucas Allen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Casey Fultz was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Braden Fournie was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one double, and one RBI.
Belleville West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Granite City only posted a batting average of .278.
Belleville West pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for O'Fallon, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-4.
