The South Garner Titans entered their tilt with the Middle Creek Mustangs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. South Garner took down Middle Creek 69-50 on Wednesday. Given South Garner's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while Middle Creek is ranked 349th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Garner to victory, but perhaps none more so than Najai Hines, who scored 9 points along with 10 rebounds and 7 blocks. Hines is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Kai Muschette was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
When it comes to explaining why Middle Creek lost, one person who can't be blamed is Yasir Hall. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Greyson Land, who scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds.
South Garner's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Middle Creek, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
South Garner will head out on the road to face off against Cary at 6:30 p.m. on December 8th. As for Middle Creek, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Fuquay - Varina at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Fuquay - Varina focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Thursday.
