Maplesville is 10-0 against Verbena since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Nehemiah McCary, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. Jonathan Wilson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Verbena's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 56-28 loss at the hands of Loachapoka. Verbena has struggled against Loachapoka recently, as their contest on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Maplesville's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Verbena, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-12.
Everything came up roses for Maplesville against Verbena in their previous meeting on Monday as the team secured a 57-17 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Maplesville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
