After flying high against the Century Centurions last Monday, the Magnolia Sentinels came back down to earth. Magnolia was beaten by Savanna 85-54 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Magnolia has suffered since December 8, 2023.
Despite the loss, Magnolia still got an impressive performance from Akthar Ahamath, who scored 14 points. Maxson Robert was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Savanna's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from James Lee, who scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lee has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Paul Henderson, who scored 21 points along with four steals.
Magnolia has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for Savanna, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-9.
Magnolia will look to defend their home court on Friday against Santa Ana Valley at 6:00 p.m. As for Savanna, they will head out on the road to take on Century at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Century will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
