The Piqua Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 56-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fairborn. That's two games in a row now that Piqua has lost by exactly nine points.
Despite the loss, Piqua still got an impressive performance from Isaiah Martin, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Weber, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Piqua were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Piqua's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Fairborn, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Piqua won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Tecumseh at 3:00 p.m. on December 16th. Tecumseh is on a three-game streak of home losses, Piqua a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Fairborn will be home for the holidays to greet Sidney at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Sidney will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
