The Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS lost against the Indian Hill Braves back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Madeira lost to Indian Hill at home by a decisive 62-47 margin. While losing is never fun, Madeira can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 576th, while Indian Hill is ranked 202nd).
When it comes to explaining why Madeira lost, one person who can't be blamed is Will Manning. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Aidan Hopewell, who scored nine points.
Madeira struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Madeira's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Indian Hill, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.
Madeira will stay at home for another game and welcome Mariemont at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Mariemont knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Madeira likes a good challenge. As for Indian Hill, they will head out on the road to challenge Reading at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
