Hillsboro snuck past East Nashville Magnet with a 43-38 victory on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Hillsboro also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Hillsboro had a senior duo take command as Ragan Starks scored 17 points and Shinae Johnson scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Starks has scored all season.
Hillsboro's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 22.9 points. As for East Nashville Magnet, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-3 record this season.
Hillsboro won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Overton at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Overton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 261st, while Hillsboro is ranked 129th). As for East Nashville Magnet, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Whites Creek at 6:00 p.m.
