On Friday, Tavares was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 35-30 to Evans. Tavares has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Evans was led to victory by Jay James and Zaria Nelson. James scored 6 points, while Nelson scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
Tavares' defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Evans, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 1-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tavares will face off against South Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully South Lake focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 37 on Thursday. As for Evans, they will head out on the road to face off against Freedom at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Freedom is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
