The Mount Dora Christian Academy Bulldogs and the East Ridge Knights will face off at 5:30 p.m. on December 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Mount Dora Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 53-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lake Mary. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mount Dora Christian Academy has scored all season.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to East Ridge, who are still winless after their tenth contest. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Hope Academy an easy 78-56 win. While losing is never fun, East Ridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 688th, while Hope Academy is ranked 179th).
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Jordan Corman and Dwayne Foreman III. Foreman III had a great game on Wednesday and scored 22 points along with eight assists and five steals. Meanwhile, Corman was balling out in the loss, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Even though they lost, East Ridge were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hope Academy only racked up 20 assists.
Mount Dora Christian Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3. As for East Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10.
Mount Dora Christian Academy strolled past East Ridge in their previous meeting back in January of 2020 by a score of 65-50. Does Mount Dora Christian Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will East Ridge turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
