The Auburndale Bloodhounds and the Davenport Broncos squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but sadly the Auburndale Bloodhounds had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a rough 63-8 loss at the hands of the Broncos. Auburndale just can't catch a break and has now endured six defeats in a row.
Davenport was led to victory by Destiny Kim and Sorayah Emilien. Kim scored 14 points along with three blocks and two steals, while Emilien scored 18 points along with seven steals and two blocks. Emilien is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least four every time she's taken the court this season. McKenzie Page was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Auburndale has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season. As for Davenport, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-4.
Auburndale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Davenport, they will face off against Lake Wales at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lake Wales is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
