If the Gloucester Catholic Rams were riding high off their 81-44 takedown of the Clayton Clippers on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Gloucester Catholic had to suffer through a rough 73-43 loss at the hands of Middle Township. It was the first time this season that Gloucester Catholic let down their fans at home.
Anthony Trombetta was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds for Middle Township. The game was Trombetta's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bubba McNeil, who scored 13 points.
Gloucester Catholic's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2. As for Middle Township, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Gloucester Catholic will head out on the road to face off against Pitman at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Middle Township, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Augustine Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Augustine Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Middle Township is ranked fifth).
