The Hemlock Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 28 points or more this season. Couldn't have asked for a better start to 2024 than the 65-25 blowout they got at home against St. Louis. Hemlock's win was all the more impressive since they were averaging only 28 points allowed on the season.
Hemlock got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hannah Borsenik out in front who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for her. Carly Siler was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Hemlock pushed their record up to 5-2 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34 points. As for St. Louis, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hemlock will square off against Carrollton at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Louis, they will head out on the road to face off against Michigan Lutheran Seminary at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Michigan Lutheran Seminary: 25.5, St. Louis: 28) so any points scored will be well earned.
